Greetings, fellow story lovers!
First of all, a deep apology. I am so very sorry for completely dropping off the map on our LOTR read-along. I don't want to say too little or too much here as either could completely trivialize it. I don't think I could even tell you what was going on at the time, but I do know that, writing wise, I completely burned out. I still should have posted an update and said so at the time, though, and I'm so so sorry to have left anyone who was participating hanging and frustrated.
Looking back at where things were left, I do feel inspired and LOTR will definitely always be right at my elbow, ready and waiting, so maybe more chapter by chapter thoughts will come in the future. I'd absolutely love that.
But meanwhile, and more importantly, I really hope you were able to press on all the way to the end and finish the trilogy. I truly hope you were able to and that it proved to be a positive. 🥹

As to this blog's refresh... In this particular season, I've been on a major Jane Eyre kick.
I first read JA years and years ago, and never quite knew what to make of it, or how to sort my own thoughts on it. Well, after reading it afresh with some dear friends, and being deeply preoccupied with it for the past several months, so many thoughts and discoveries have come bubbling to the surface.
I now know my own mind. It has shot near the top of my all time favorites list and is definitely among my top ten favorite classics. Revolutionary in the history of the novel, it's also an epic Christian masterpiece -- not simply as being written from a Christian perspective, but regarding the Christian life itself. I love it so much.
So now you know where I'm coming from. ;)
I wanted a place to detail more specifics of the play-by-play than would fit neatly in a review, so in the days ahead, I'm planning to go through the book again and post thoughts on each chapter individually here. It won't exactly be a read-along (as it seemed best to keep everything very low key), but I plan to use it as a way to reference back to my notes, and also hoping it can be utilized by / helpful to anyone else running across it in the future and wanting to delve into the great classic that is Jane Eyre.
